-Not so- Light Meal for My Brain

I just finished reading this book called SIX THINKING HATS by Edward De Bono. I LOOOVEEE THIS BOOK. So inspiring!

Knowing that thinking is the ultimate human resource, i realize then how i have to optimize my thinking capasity. This book helps me find the best strategy to do that. So many inspiring thoughts are revealed in this book. Like this one, my favorite..

^The only people who are very satisfied with their thinking skill are those poor little thinkers who believe that the purpose of thinking is to prove yourself right -to their own satisfaction.^

Here are those wonderful six hats with its concern: (i rewrote it down with some key concepts, it helps to comprehend it easily)

Houseplant

I checked on my email this morning and someone sent me this wonderful insprational thought . I would like to share to everyone who read this blog ..

"Dear Putri,

This week I'd like to bring up one of life's small pleasures that actually provides quite a bit of satisfaction: the houseplant. Have you ever noticed how houseplants make a décor more warm and welcoming? There's something pleasing and comforting about them.

The Chinese have long believed that houseplants generate positive energy, Putri, and modern scientific studies support the value of having plants in homes, offices, or environments such as hospitals, schools, and other institutions.

Actually, there are many benefits to having plants around us. As plants take in the air around them, they actually remove some of the airborne toxins and replenish the environment with oxygen. Peace lilies, bamboo, palms, and spider plants are thought to be especially effective at clearing the air of unpleasant toxic chemicals. In addition, studies have shown that plants also have a positive physiological effect on us, by providing relief from anxiety, lowering blood pressure, and adding to a general sense of well-being.

Plants in school and work environments have been credited for boosting productivity, shortening reaction time, increasing spatial perceptions, and building concentration. Students who study with plants nearby are more likely to be in regular attendance, while people who work in offices surrounded by plants tend to enjoy their jobs more than employees who work in more sterile environments.

Personally, Putri, I think the nicest thing about plants is the simple fact of having these living, green organisms growing in my home and office. I hope you are already enjoying the calming and pleasant benefits of your own houseplants. But if you haven't been exercising your green thumb, maybe it's time to get your hands a little dirty!"

..if possible i'm gonna start growing some houseplants at home. ^_^

Jakarta Toy Fair 2009

Last Sunday, Nanda and si monyet took me to Jakarta Toy Fair 2009. Attending toy fair brings out child side of me. I'm a very young girl at heart actually. Sometimes, i view my world as a playground where a little girl can learn many things she wants to. I realize then, i would never move on from this side of me. To be honest, i love being a little girl. Well, but everyone has to move on from their comfort zone, right?!

..and for now, i love to see my self as a big girl, striving to be a grown-up woman. hihihi.. who enjoys every second of her life learning that life isn't easy to deal, yet considering it -still- as a playground which is physically challenging and fun place to hang around.

I enjoyed my time there, i took a look around.
Here's what i saw,
so many tiny cute things..

Mickey-Minnie, Mario-Luigi, Donkey Kong..
all of them are my childhood bestfriends.
Just love them all!!

Mr. A-Z grooved Jakarta

Jason Mraz performed spectacular in the Java Jazz 2009 event. Not only he sang with his beautiful voice but also entertained audiences with his unique body language, very groovy! Nothing more to say, he was amazing! I wish i could have more and more of his performance.

Java Jazz 2009 = exciting! Unfortunately, there were lack of services provided in. Started buying tickets on line, ticket redeemed, until the event itself. My impression about Java Jazz 2009 is not well organized:
1. Suddenly, online ticket purchasing was temporarilly closed. Made in early January, Jason Mraz was scheduled would perform on Friday. But then, they informed he would also perform on Saturday with longer duration. Me and Nanda already bought tickets for Friday. If we knew earlier that Jason Mraz would also perform on Saturday, we'd rather buy tickets for Saturday. huh!
2. Queuing system was bad. Started from tickets redeemed at The Sultan (there's only one ticket box and few officers) until the concert hall. all we had to do is QUEUING.

Fortunately, i met some friends there. All my regret washed away because of them. We had fun there, laughing! as always.. hihihihi
